One leg is documented. Fiji Airways’ Singapore route page priced Singapore–Nadi returns from $949 SGD, about €650, for travel through 10 December 2026, as it stood in February 2026. The airline’s Nadi fares provide the confirmed half of the two-ticket sum.
The old version of this article assumed a Europe–Singapore return under €800 on Turkish Airlines or Finnair. That figure was never sourced, and it does not appear in this update. Without the missing fare, there is no split-ticket total. There is only a threshold.
The arithmetic leaves €751 for the Europe–Singapore return: the through-fare minus the confirmed Singapore–Nadi price. For a two-ticket split to win, that missing leg must cost less for the same dates. Above the threshold, the through-ticket is cheaper even before a hotel night or the cost of replacing a missed second ticket.
The travel periods also have to match.
Baggage rules that decide whether a split booking works
Fiji Airways allows 30kg of total checked baggage on Asia–Fiji flights in Economy Value, Comfort and Plus, and 7kg of cabin baggage, according to the airline’s Singapore pages. “Total” means a combined weight across your bags, not a per-bag limit.
On a split booking, that allowance belongs to the Singapore–Nadi ticket. One 28kg case fits comfortably within it. A checked case and a dive bag can put a traveler over the limit even when neither bag does so alone.
The cabin cap is tighter. A carry-on plus a laptop bag can breach it on its own, and a cabin bag is the one item you cannot leave behind.
Baggage is where a saving on paper meets a real cost. A traveler who needs more than the checked allowance faces a limit on each ticket, on top of the fare threshold the Europe–Singapore leg must clear.
