Frontier Airlines promo codes & sales, tested

Frontier's loyalty scheme goes by the name Frontier Miles and sits outside any airline alliance. Members typically build up their balance by flying Frontier, by putting spending on the Frontier co-branded credit card, and by buying miles directly. Moving miles in from other loyalty programmes does not appear to be a clear route at this stage.

For our purposes, one Frontier mile is worth about 1.2 US cents, based on published valuations and refreshed twice a year. To judge a redemption, compare the number of miles needed with the cash fare for the same flight, then add the taxes and fees that still apply to award tickets.

Frontier Miles has four status levels: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Status is earned through Elite Status Points gathered from eligible spending, and the thresholds rise through the tiers, with points reset at the start of each programme year. Higher levels carry perks such as free advance seat selection, no change or cancellation fees, priority boarding and priority customer care.

Miles are mainly spent on award flights, and they can also be bundled with checked bags and seat selection. Award prices vary by route and travel date rather than being fixed. Before redeeming, check the total taxes and fees, which start from about US$5€4A$7 on awards, and note that miles expire after 12 months of account inactivity.

Our records show one tracked Frontier Airlines offer over the past 12 months, and it was in the extras and add-ons category. Because offer availability depends on the travel date and the departure country, the same deal may not appear for every reader.

Extras and add-on offers let you buy items like checked bags, seat selection, lounge access, hotel rooms, or car rentals alongside your main booking, often at a discount when bundled. Before you buy, check the travel dates, the departure country, and any cabin or fare conditions, since an extra may apply only to certain flights or rates. Remember to factor in taxes and fees, which can raise the final price. A good deal is one where the bundled price, with all charges included, is lower than buying the same item separately for your exact trip.
