Cebu Pacific promo codes & sales, tested

Cebu Pacific runs a loyalty scheme called Go Rewards. It is not part of a larger airline alliance. Members collect points when they book Cebu Pacific flights online, when they buy add-ons online, and when they make purchases with partner stores. Points can also be transferred in from Go Rewards partners, though the conversion rates differ from one partner to another and are worth checking before you move anything.

For our purposes we value one mile at about 1.5 US cents, taken from published valuations of Alaska/Hawaiian Atmos Rewards miles, which we use as a reference point because Cebu Pacific points have no widely published value of their own. This is a rough guide rather than a fixed figure, and we refresh it twice a year. To judge a redemption, compare the points required with the cash fare for the same seat, then add up the taxes and carrier charges that still apply on the award, since these can narrow the saving considerably.

We could not find any public elite tiers for Go Rewards, and no published scheme that explains how status is earned. Members do receive points on flights and partner purchases, and those points are the main benefit of the programme as it stands.

Points can be spent on reward flights, on add-ons such as extras bought with a booking, and on certain partner purchases. Where the terms do not state a fixed price for an award, check the current points requirement before you commit. Before you redeem, confirm what taxes and surcharges will still be charged in cash, and check whether points expire, because we have not been able to confirm the expiry policy from the sources available.

Over the past 12 months we tracked three Cebu Pacific offers: two fare sales and one bonus-mile offer. Whether an offer is worth taking depends heavily on the travel date and on the country you are departing from, since fares, taxes and availability can vary by route and market.

A fare sale offers a percentage off, or a fixed low price, on selected routes and travel dates, usually for a short booking window. Before you pay, check the travel dates, the departure country (sales often apply only to flights leaving from certain markets), the cabin class and fare rules such as baggage, changes, and refunds, and whether the advertised price includes taxes and fees. To judge whether it is genuinely good, compare the final total against recent fares for the same route and dates rather than against the original price shown.

A bonus-miles offer gives you extra loyalty miles on top of those you normally earn when you fly, spend on a card, or book through a partner. Before relying on one, check the validity window, since the bonus often applies only to travel or purchases made within certain dates, and confirm the departure country and eligible cabins or fare classes. Also note whether taxes and fees are excluded from the qualifying spend. To judge whether it is genuinely good, compare the value of the miles you would receive with what you would pay in cash for the same trip.
